Your Complete Guide To Caribbean Airlines Baggage Allowance

Caribbean Airlines Baggage Policy

Are you travelling for the first time with Caribbean Airlines? Knowing the baggage regulations is very important, especially if you don’t wanna pay extra or save your time. Read the Caribbean Airlines' baggage policy, which has a set of rules.

In this blog, we will discuss all the regulations, like carry-on and checked baggage allowance, and the list of restricted and specially allowed items, embargo restrictions, and how to add baggage.

What are the Caribbean Airlines Baggage Policy?

If I try to put two factors, the baggage policy mainly depends on two factors: 1st one is the fare rules, and the second one is the route and destination. If you don’t wanna pay extra charges, know the regulations. Read some standard rules of this policy before you deeply read the blog:

  • Passengers are allowed to take a personal item and a carry-on bag. These are included in the fare.
  • The airlines may accept overweight, oversized, or additional bags for a fee and/or subject to space availability.
  • Infants and passengers with special needs have specific allowances.
  • Pets are allowed to travel only as checked baggage (service animals are exceptions).
  • Mixed-class itineraries: Business-class allowance applies to sectors ticketed as Biz; Economy allowance applies to sectors ticketed as Lite/Classic/Flex.
  • Boxes can be included in the checked baggage limit if they are within the weight/dimensions.

What are the Size and Weight Allowances?

This policy allows three types of baggage: personal bag, carry-on bag and checked bag. All teh bags must not exceed the provided weight and size limits:

Mobility Aids:

  • Assistive devices like walkers, crutches, and wheelchairs can be taken in the cabin as part of the passengers' luggage.

How to Add Baggage?

Additional bags can be purchased during booking or via the manage booking portal.

  • While booking, you get the add baggage option after providing information.
  • After booking, you can visit the APP or website.

  • Select the add baggage option.
  • And make confirmation after adding baggage.
  • Passengers can add baggage by calling the airlines.

What To Do in Case of Lost, Damaged, or Delayed Baggage?

Baggage left onboard:

If you forgot something on the flight, you have to mail the airlines with teh detailed description of the items and also provide seating details. Airlines will search for your product and notify you.

If you have left something at the TSA station, contact them by phone or website

For other airport locations, refer to the Lost & Found department at that particular airport.

Missing checked bag:

In case your checked baggage is missing, the first thing to do is to report it to a Caribbean Airlines Representative at the airport and then proceed to fill out a Property Irregularity Report (PIR). The airline will try to return you’re baggage in 48 hours.

  • You may have the option of having it delivered (if it is non-dutiable) or picking it up yourself (travel costs will be refunded).
  • Claims for delay expenses can be filed within 21 days with the receipts attached.
  • If, after 7 days, it is still missing, the claim can be filed; compensation will be according to international conventions.

Damaged item:

In case your baggage or contents are damaged or missing, the first thing to do is to report it to a Caribbean Airlines Representative at the airport and get a Property Irregularity Report (PIR).

  • You can also file a written claim within 7 days if you have already left.
  • Along with the PIR, claim form, boarding pass, bag tags and receipts, submit these; a police report may be asked for.
  • If you are carrying any fragile, perishable or high-value items in the checked bag, airlines will not be responsible for them.
  • Responsibility does not cover normal wear or factory defects, except as regulated in the air transport agreements.
  • If the loss has happened during a TSA inspection, you have to complain to them.
